Setting a Custom BIGO Live ID
A memorable ID makes you easier to find. Read the rules first, then make the change in a couple of minutes.
Check these rules before you start
BIGO sets the rules for custom IDs and can update them with new app versions, so treat the list below as a guide and trust the in-app confirmation screen for the final word.
- Unique — nobody else on BIGO Live can already be using it.
- Format — usually letters and numbers only, within a set length (commonly 6–20 characters).
- Cost — the first change is often free; later changes may cost Beans.
- Your old ID is released — someone else may be able to take it after you switch.
Making the change
Me → Edit Profile
Open your profile from the Me tab and tap Edit Profile.
Tap the ID field
Select your current ID to open the change screen.
Try an ID
Type the ID you want. If it is taken, add numbers or change a few characters.
Confirm the cost
Check whether Beans are needed, then confirm.
After your ID changes
Your diamonds, followers and account history stay exactly where they were — only the identifier is different. The one thing to update is anywhere you saved the old ID.
- Use the new ID for your next diamond recharge; the old one may now belong to someone else.
- Tell friends who add you by ID search.
Custom ID Questions
Do I have to pay to change my BIGO ID?
Often the first change costs nothing, but that can vary. Further changes may need Beans — the confirmation screen shows the current price before you commit.
Can I switch back to my previous ID later?
Only if nobody has claimed it in the meantime. Once released, an old ID is not reserved for you.
Will I lose diamonds or followers?
No. They belong to your account, not to the ID text, so they carry over unchanged.
Every ID I try is taken — any tips?
Add a number, a year or a short suffix. IDs have to be unique across the whole platform, so short common words are rarely free.
